Chase Gardens Land Use Planning

Eugene, OR

Long the location of Chase Gardens, a family-owned company renowned for growing roses for the wholesale florist industry, the property began a process of transitioning from agriculture to a mix of residential and commercial uses. To assist in this process from a comprehensive, neighborhood-scale perspective, the city of Eugene commissioned The Satre Group to update the larger Willakenzie Area Neighborhood Plan, creating a sub-area plan to delineate locations for the emerging residential and commercial uses. Following neighborhood outreach and public review, the resulting Chase Gardens Plan allocated area for high-density residential, commercial and office uses; amended the local transportation plan with realigned collector and new local streets, provided for a new neighborhood park and pedestrian and bicycle connections. The neighborhood is now nearly fully developed with a number of multi-family residential developments, several assisted-living and retirement complexes and a large medical center.

The Satre Group is a recognized leader in understanding Oregon land use planning with a proven track record of successful results.
