The Lane Residence is nestled in a sloping forested site in the hills of South Eugene. The main entry to the house is dramatized by a cascading, basalt creek emerging from the forest, flowing down the hillside and culminating in a central pool in the entry plaza. Patio and lawn terraces radiate from the rear of the house creating a series of outdoor, terraced rooms that embrace and interact with the natural landscape. Reforested hillsides in both the front and back yards enhance the spirit of the structure emerging from within the forest.

The Satre Group provided site planning and site design services. Working closely with the contractor and client, the site design responded to the house and site conditions.
